14 Must Have Free Fonts

Advent
Advent Font by Inde Graphics. Family includes 7 weights.

Chunk 5
“Chunk is an ultra-bold slab serif typeface that is reminiscent of old American Western woodcuts, broadsides, and newspaper headlines. Used mainly for display, the fat block lettering is unreserved yet refined for contemporary use.”

League Gothic
“League Gothic is a revival of an old classic, and one of our favorite typefaces, Alternate Gothic No.1. It was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903. The company went bankrupt in 1993. And since the original typeface was created before 1923, the typeface is in the public domain.”

Junction
“Inspired by my favorite humanist sans serif typefaces, such as Meta, Myriad, and Scala, Junction is where the best qualities of serif and sans serif typefaces come together. It has the hand drawn and human qualities of a serif, and still retains the clarity and efficiencies of a sans serif typeface. It combines the best of both worlds.”

Serif Beta
Included in the set are Regular,Italic,Bold,Bold Italic for optical sizes 72, 12 and 6. Size 72 also includes italic swash characters and Black weights.

Calluna
Pretty nice serif font. This is a paid font, but the font creators left Calluna Regular free of charge!

Carto Gothic
OpenType Format in 4 styles.

Delicious
“The Delicious is a font I designed because of my admiration for typography. It got a bit out of hand and in two years it resulted in a complete font family.”

Diavlo
Free font that contains 5 weights: Light, Book, SemiBold Medium, Bold and Black.

Fontin
“The Fontin is designed to be used at small sizes. The color is darkish, the spacing loose and the x-height tall. Don’t forget to check Fontin Sans!”

Juvelo
Pretty basic serif font. Pretty clean!

Mayberry Pro
“Mayberry Pro is an part of an extensive set of 14 OpenType fonts from Ascender Corp. Mayberry Pro was designed by Steve Matteson for use in set top TV devices, User Interfaces, Web Pages and documents designed for presentation on screen and in print.” The font’s semibold weight is free for download.

St Transmission
Nice sans serif font. Comes with two weights, a light and normal.

Zag
The font shows itself. Beautiful.
